Have you ever wondered what it would be like to steward a class. Well here is your chance to have a go & help at the National Shetland Performance Show, 7th & 8th July. If anyone would like to have a go please get in touch. You do not have to do all day, even just a couple of classes would help. Full training will be given. You just need to be smart, wear a hat & help the judge. We will also be running a FREE Judges & Stewards Clinic on Friday 6th at 6pm approx. So you can find out whats involved & see showing from the other side! The clinic is open to everyone adults & children. It may be possible to run another session during the show if time allows. So once again please get in touch. When only a Shetland will do .......This is Lotuspoint Sahara visiting a local hospice yesterday , proving that they really are the most versatile ponies. Thank you Emma Hutchinson for sending this in. I’m sure your visit made a big difference to many people.
22 days left to get your entries in. Pre-entered ponies may enter additional classes on the day for the usual class fee. Click here for more information, schedule & entry form
So some of you may have seen that Carrie Cook commented on one of our fb posts but we think she deserves a post of her own, many congratulations what a brilliant long awaited result. "For the first time ever in nearly 30yrs of attending the royal bath and west, we took Senior Champion Standard and then Overall Shetland Champion with our 10yr old mare Stepley Candelara. To say we are over the moon is an understatement. Our first time competing in a Cuddy championship too. Must not forget Stepley Belita belle getting 6th in a strong miniature mare class." From inhand to leadrein pony Bluebell’s Truffle ridden by Molly Marston at Royal Bath and West. Truffles competed in the nps lead rein and the Shetland in hand. All of us had a fab day and both child and pony behaved impeccably. Gillian Marston and myself are very proud of both of them. Thank you Isabella Bride for sending this in.
The super cute Christie Wilson aged 3 with her pony Oakley of Auckhorn at Fife Hunt Pony Club Summer Show, picking up plenty of prizes but more importantly... having fun . It was their first proper show & It was a busy day for Christie.
Ridden scheme members Lathom Jangle & Grace Adams won the Nps novice lead rein. and also took the Championship at Doncaster Equine College, a result made even more special as Jangle suffered a nasty field accident which required major surgery with only a 60% chance of a full recovery. So lovely to see her now in the ring and winning having made such great recovery. Thank you Sarah Adams. Well what can we say but WOW another RI qualification for the beautiful Briar Snowman this time with Grace Litherland in the junior small breeds ridden at Staffs County Show where they also took reserve champion thank you Jane Litherland for sending this in. Snowman has now qualified in the leadrein & first Ridden with Lilly Richardson. What a superstar. Many congratulations to all involved.

Clothie Flyn with Junior Whip Champion Sophie Moore at Cothal Driving Trials yesterday We say what an amazing result & what a great opportunity these children have learning to drive with Elinor to guide them. Congratulations all. In show season with so many lovely showing posts it is easy to forget that not everybody shows and there are some fabulous ponies out there doing their jobs at home and in other areas. These super photos are shared with us by Jan Sayer of her gelding Lornarth Gethins Flame having a day away from his successes in the Inhand showing ring to carefully look after Aliyah having her first ever ride. Looking forward to seeing you under saddle at the Performance show next year Greg and Aliyah ;-)
More news in from the Royal Bath & West, this time from Inhand Award Scheme members Lynda Rowland and Champlers Rose Blossom who took the Reserve Standard Championship today. Lovely points for your card Lynda Rowland, well done. you can learn more about our Inhand Awards Scheme by clicking here.
News coming In now from Royal Bath and West. Well done Sophie Jones & Jenny of Chasend Shetland Ponies. "Fab day at the Royal Bath and West Show. Chasend Lady in Red owned by Rosie Burton and shown by Sophie, wins the miniature mare class and then goes on to take senior miniature champion. So pleased with her at just 4 years old." What a super new combination, thank you Claire Webber for sharing . "Eloise and Oldvicarage Glamageddon went to their 1st show jumping competition and did 2 clear rounds and came 4th in the cross pole class. They only been together since Christmas and he’s only 4. Think they are doing fab. They have also been doing fab in the showing area as well. 2 weeks ago she came of the lead rein and did 1st ridden and got 2x 2nd place. But I didn’t get any photos. She’s also qualified him for the South west pony association champs in August in various classes". |
