Unsure if he's ever been backed but tacked up and my son rode on lead rein which he took all in stride with no issues
Positive he's had something done before and is certainly a willing chap if he hasn't!
Wouldn't take much to get him going
Will make an amazing pony he's eager to please
Could be a lead rein , driving pony , games pony or racing pony he really has a lot of potential.
