Shetland Performance Display Team
The Shetland Performance Display Team is a team of registered Shetland ponies putting on display races, relays and other performances predominantly around the South West of England with the intentions of promoting the versatility of the Shetland pony as a breed and raising money for charity. The charity we have been supporting for the last 10 years and will continue to support in 2023 is Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Appeal of Bristol Children's Hospital. In 2022 we also supported Birmingham Children's hospital and this will also continue for our 2023 season.
If you wish to enquire about booking the team for an event please contact us to discuss your requirements as we work with each event individually and can tailor our Displays or 'Meet & Greet' to your needs.
If you would like to get involved with the Display Team please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We are always looking for new members, even if you have a pony but no rider, don’t panic as we have plenty of riders available to help you find an ideal combination.
Riders wishing to join the team for racing must be 8yrs or over, of a suitable size for the pony they’re riding and comfortable jumping 2ft as well as galloping alongside other ponies. Do not be fooled, Shetlands may be small but they’re certainly fast!
To be part of the team ponies must be registered with the SPS-BS and also part of the
Shetland Performance Ridden Awards Scheme.
