​The aim of the Performance Awards Schemes is to encourage and promote the all round versatility of the Shetland as a Performance Pony by recognising participation and achievements in a wide variety of competitive disciplines, organised events and activities.
​All Ponies must be registered in the main body of the Shetland Pony Society Stud Book
The Inhand Awards Scheme runs from 1st January to 31st December annually
Entry £15 per Pony - includes all relevant categories your pony is eligible for.
(Extra ponies under the same ownership or under an official lease or loan agreement - £10 per Pony / Enter Another Scheme with same pony for £10)

The Scheme may be entered at any time but only points accrued after the joining date will be valid
Results from a maximum of 6 shows may be entered under 5 different Judges
All classes must be SPS-BS affiliated with the exception of categories 11, 12, 13 & 14


​Attend our annual Shetland Performance Show and receive £3 off per Inhand ​class

10. Foal - at foot from 3 weeks to include weanlings up to 31st  December in year of birth

​SPS-BS, Other Affiliations & Unaffiliated
​11. Coloured -  All classes must be designated Coloured Classes 
​12. Veteran - 15yrs+ - All SPS-BS affiliated classes are eligible. 
 All SSADL & VHS classes are accepted

13. Other Affiliations/Unaffiliated classes - Classes Must be Shetland or M&M Specific
​       (other Affiliations includes NPS, BSPS & NCPA)

Young Handler
14. Young Handler - maximum age 15yrs

Special Recognition
Each Year we award our 'Special Recognition' rosette/s to members who haven't necessarily won, but whose whose results have caught our eye for a special reason.

1. ​ SPS-BS Affiliated Classes 
       1
st - 50, 2nd - 40, 3rd - 30, 4th - 20, 5th - 10
     
 Yearling in 1- 3yrs Youngstock Classes an extra 10 points 
       Gelding in a mixed sex class an extra 10 points  

       HEIGHT SECTION CHAMPION - 50   RESERVE -  30  (ie. Youngstock)
       OVERALL HEIGHT SECTION/RING CHAMPION - 70    Reserve - 50    
       OVERALL SHETLAND CHAMPION  - 100     Reserve  - 70
       SHOW M&M CHAMPION - 150   Reserve - 100
       NPS Mountain & Moorland Kilmannon Stud Silver Medal Rosette Championship  -   Champion - 150   reserve - 100

11.  Classes affiliated to SPS-BS, CHAPS or BSPA will receive affiliated points.
​       Coloured classes not subject to these affiliations will receive Unaffiliated points.

 12.  Classes affiliated to SPS-BS, SSADL & VHS 2nd Round/Regional affiliated Classes & Championships will be awarded the same points as 1. SPS-BS Affiliated          Classes.    
SSADL & VHS 1st Round/Area shows will be awarded points as per category   13. Unaffiliated V
eteran specific classes not subject to these affiliations will receive Unaffiliated Points.
        Points accrued in non veteran SPS-BS, NPS and BSPS M&M or Shetland classes will be awarded SPS-BS Affiliated points.

13. Other Affiliations/ Unaffiliated Classes - 50% of 1. Affiliated Points - Classes must be Shetland or M&M specific
      ​(BSPS, NPS classes/championships will be awarded the same as SPS-BS affiliated points

     M&M CHAMPION - 75    RESERVE - 50
      SHOW CHAMPION - 100    RESERVE - 75

      NPS Mountain & Moorland Kilmannon Stud Silver Medal Rosette Championship  -   Champion - 150   reserve - 100
