"The Pony Breeders of Shetland Association are saddened to hear of the passing of Myrna Flaws of the Grutness Stud. Myrna was highly respected both as a Shetland pony breeder and as a judge. Grutness ponies do consistently well in the showring and have gained many championships. Myrna was passionate about the Shetland pony and served as secretary of the PBSA for many years and also completed several terms on the Shetland Pony Stud Book Society Council. Then went overall Miniature ring champion. Also Emily won her 13yrs-16years young handler with Beeftub Bel"l Emileo and then went Res Champion overall young handler. Beltoy Stelreine was 2nd in Black brood mare and our foal Skyelands Prince Rupert was 3rd and had lovely positive comments from the judge Mr J Harrison. Rupert went really well and did his show all by himself. Belle was 2nd in coloured yeld mare. Congratulations to Ellie Simmonds and Mel who won and went on to be Res. SUPREME Champion with Birchmoor Samara." This fabulous new combination have been together less than 3 months and even more amazingly 15yr old Threapwood Velour was only previously backed and lightly ridden for a couple of months several years ago, but today 'Posy' and Rose qualified for the second round SSADL in the Ridden and Inhand categories.
Owned by the Pirouette Stud, Kate Hampton said " We are delighted that Posy has found the perfect loan home, she is a pony that needs to do a job and Tracey and Rose have worked really hard with her and are doing an amazing job. It is lovely to see her looking so happy and doing so well in her new home, we can't wait to see what the future holds for Posy and Rose."
As many will know we do all things Shetland Performance on a voluntary basis & the show is run by an army of volunteers who along with us give their time for free while doing their own ponies, jobs & families. So sometime we might take a little longer to post things.
