Well done to David Hodge & Julian Walters who had a very red first outing of the season at the Native Pony Magazine Native Pony Show in Wiltshire. The novice boys Blackertor Magneto took Shetland champion and then Overall Supreme In Hand while Sharptor Kinsman won the young stock class and took Reserve Breed Champion.
Shown here is Magneto who wears a bridle from our Inhand Awards Scheme Sponsor, Native Pony Bridles who are also donating a fabulous hand crafted, English leather Bridle or Filly Slip to the overall Points winner of the Inhand Scheme.

We introduced you to Marley (Stone Cellars Kinross) back in February but had to share this recent photo with you as well. Marley works for his hay at 'Mini Pony Hire' and is a regular at Beamish Museum wearing the pit harness as Shetlands would have done many years ago.
The Museum recently hosted their annual 'Horses at War'  event and this fabulous photo shows the largest &
the smallest of the Scottish Native breeds, the Shetland and the Clydesdale working alongside each other at the living museum.  Thank you Mini Pony Hire for sharing.

More news from the Breast in Show Charity show today where 30yr old stallion Hose Reynard (Sire: Hose Vanesto Dam: Wells Virol) owned by Kate Hampton won both the VHS and SSADL Area qualifier classes.
Kate said "Jamie is still in his full winter coat as he has to live out 24/7 as he can no longer eat hay, I've never done a VHS class before but the SSADL class was the strongest first round class we have ever done so we were delighted to win, although i think my jacket may need a trip to the dry cleaners to remove the hair before the next show!"

When you have a talented Shetland This is Zennor Saffron owned by Natalie Bubb (bred by Marion Mathews).
Natalie brought Saffy as a unbroken 4yo from Marion. Since then she's done a bit of showing, even some fancy dress & had a foal then 2 months ago she was loaned to Marie Laity and her son Samuel. Yesterday they went to their first show jumping where she had a fab clear on the 60cm track. Looks to us at Shetland Performance that they had a ball.

Here’s a sneaky peek at what’s new at the Shetland Performance Show (schedules nearly ready) 7th & 8th July, 3 Counties Showground.
So we know you all like to dress up & dance  (we’ve seen the photos) So this year we are having a freestyle dressage to music class with costumes. Very kindly sponsor by Pro Cranes Ltd inc. a trophy to the winner.
This is open to all & can include props. It’s about having fun & can be done on or off the lead rein. Rules below but to be honest there’s not may, any music, any theme, any costume . Entries will be limited to 10 for this class & no other showing classes will be on so no need to worry about clashes.
