Julia Prentice shares her story with us ......
"I have very much enjoyed reading everyones success stories with their wonderful Shetlands and would like to share my Shetlands results with your members.......
My 40 inch piebald Standard Shirrford Popeye was bred by Elaine Lewis and was successfully shown in hand as a youngster. He was purchased and broken in as a scurry pony pair "Popeye and Olive" by the well known Scurry pony family the Fairburns and driven successfully by Sammy Fairburn.

 He did however find Scurry work a bit exciting and was purchased by myself in 2015 for private driving where he was very successful shown at County Show level in pleasure and exercise classes.
This year I have decided to break him to ride as well. 
After only a few months schooling he qualified NPS Picton finals at NPS Area 14 with a first place, he then Won all his novice classes at NORSE Welsh medal show and stood Novice Champion. Only his 4th outing was Suffolk County Show in the BSPS Olympia Qualifier...originally pulled into first place a baby whoopsie in the set show had him placed in 2nd place. Beautifully ridden by my friend Emma Tiley-Nunn who has formed a fantastic bond with this boy in a short space of time." Julia Prentice
